Italian Empire Period Walnut and Ebonized Demilune Console Tables with Mirrors

About the Item

These beautiful antique Italian Empire demilune console tables with mirrors date back to early 19th Century. We can assume they were made in Florence, Italy and they come from a villa in the Tuscan countryside. These are a very good quality console tables in rich brown polished walnut wood and matte black ebonized wood with gilt accents. D shaped top sitting above a simple apron supported by four graceful column legs painted as faux ebony wood adorned with giltwood capitals raised on an elegantly shaped base and ball feet providing great stability. The semi-circular tops over sober aprons open to reveal a very useful storage space to store anything from linen to jewelry or cutlery. The rectangular mirrors feature the same consoles nice clean architectural lines typical of Neoclassical period. Ebonized columns with gilt details on either side and two giltwood ball feet adorned with hand-carved acanthus leaves. The demilune console tables can sit together back to back to form an important round centre table or they can sit as a pair against a wall. Whether in the centre of a room such as a foyer or an entrance showcasing some accessory or flowers or on either side of a window or fireplace in your living or dining room, these spectacular demilune tables will brighten any space. Regards the mirrors you can either place them on top of these elegant consoles table to complete the original set or you can hang it on the wall above fireplace as a mantel mirror. These Italian neoclassical consoles and mirrors will bring a classical distinction to any room of your home.
