A very Fine Tall 19th Century Giltwood Pier Mirror
About the Item
A very fine 19th Century giltwood pier mirror of exceptional quality and tall and narrow proportions. The shaped, mirror glass plate is set within a stunningly hand carved, moulded and pierced giltwood frame with elegant sphere and beaded row detail throughout. Surmounted with an intricately pierced centred crest composition comprising of cartouche with applied flowerhead paterae, c-scrolls and beaded row motif detail flanked with richly scrolling foliate, all exquisitely hand carved in high relief. The shaped platform base with a further gorgeous arrangement of scrolling foliate to each side.
