18th Century Spanish Carved Giltwood Sunburst Wall Mirror with Mirrored Insets

Hand-carved in Spain circa 1780, and almost square in shape, the antique overlay mirror features a heavily textured, layered wooden frame. The frame has intricate carved details, including repeating geometric patterns, beaded edges, and scalloped designs. The central mirror is rectangular, surrounded by raised embellishments that create a shadowbox effect. The piece exhibits folk art characteristics, possibly hand-crafted, reflecting the tramp art tradition, which often utilized repurposed wood materials such as cigar boxes.
