About the Item
Large mirror created by the artist designer François Chaty in Vallauris (South of France).
A fantastic Mid-Century Modern decor piece for any space.
Sharp brass spikes radiate from the convex mirror ( diameter 7.48 in - 19 cm ), often called witch mirror.
Sun diameter 27.95 in - 71 cm.
Very condition condition.
Circa 1960.
François Chaty remains inseparable from the Vallauris craft activity in the 50s and 60s, for the production of his famous "witch's eye" mirrors, published by Gilbert Poillerat.
At 19, the young man graduated from the Boulle school and became the apprentice of Edgar Brandt, an artistic ironworker and arms manufacturer, with whom he spent eight years "Broc & Co).
François Chaty also made tables and other objects.
The factory was located on the Hauts Mauruches road.
