1950s Murano Glass Vanity Table Mirror With 24 Karat Gold Dust and Bronze Frame
About the Item
Mid 20th Century Murano glass vanity table mirror made by Barovier, circa 1950s. This remarkable mirror is made with clear ribbed Murano glass with loads of 24K gold flecks throughout the glass. The glass appears light yellow, but in actuality it is clear glass with 24K gold dust making it glisten with pure elegance.
The structure is made of antique patinated bronze with a seashell designed base. The center mirror portion is surrounded by thick ribbed Murano glass and is attached to the bronze structure. The decorative Murano glass scrolls on both sides also have 24K gold dust and the intricate design motif gives this mirror a stunning Hollywood Regency or Art Deco appearance. The mirror moves easily but keep in mind this mirror was designed to only move in a limited direction and was not designed to move in a complete 360 degree spin. Aged original wood backing on verso.
This luxury vanity mirror is an excellent example of Mid 20th Century Italian glass blowing at its best!
