About
A stunning mid-19th century Indian dressing table mirror with intricate micro mosaic design, known as Sadeli. The micro mosaic pieces comprise of brass, bone and colored woods, placed in geometric and star configurations. The base and finials of the mirror are hand painted with floral designs.
The craftsmanship of this mirror is stunning, although simple to achieve the craftsman had to have amazing technique and patience. Sadeli can be mostly seen on boxes which became known as Bombay boxes, since Bombay was the centre of making them.
Due to age and design some pieces of mosaic are missing.
