19th Century Gold Green Painted Giltwood Empire Trumeau Mirror
About the Item
An old French Directory period, hand-carved trumeau mirror in gilded wood and painted in green, and its base in off-white. The mirror glass is original and just as it was done at the time, it is divided into two parts.
At the top the figure of a sun is represented, flanked by two winged figures, the mirror is framed surrounded by two columns decorated with plant garlands, as well as the base, also with plant motifs.
I note that one of the winged figures has part of the wing missing, but we have preferred that it maintain its original appearance and not proceed to restore it with a modern element.
