About the Item
Antique Country French Provincial painted Trumeau features a painted finish that enhances the hand carved Rococo detailing from the arched crown to the framework surrounding the romantic-themed painting. Generously sized mirror and acanthus flourishes on the bottom corners complete the effect. The painting is an interpretation of a group of cherubs celebrating the grape harvest, a theme that was glorified during the Renaissance and has been revisited by artists for centuries. This particular rendering is amazingly lifelike and at the same time charming in its innocence,
circa early 1900s.
