Bring classical refinement to an interior with this elegant Régence period overlay mirror. Crafted in Provence, southern France, circa 1750, the antique mirror features an arched, hand-carved giltwood frame richly decorated with asymmetrical scroll work, acanthus leaves, and floral motifs—hallmarks of the Régence style that bridges the grandeur of Louis XIV and the fluidity of Rococo. The shaped crest is crowned with an exuberant palmette flanked by volutes and floral flourishes. The original mercury glass plate is surrounded by inset mirror panels, adding layered depth while showcasing the charming, timeworn spotting of antique glass. A warm, patinated gold leaf finish enhances the sculptural detail and radiates old-world elegance. Both decorative and versatile, this Provençal mirror makes a striking accent over a console, fireplace mantel, or dressing table.
