A native of Vallauris, François Lembo began his career as a potter in 1951, working in the Calva and Rossignol workshops. After his apprenticeship and national service, he worked for 3 years in the studio of his father-in-law, Marc Roussel, before opening his own studio in Vallauris in 1960.
