About the Item

A striking architectural mirror fashioned from an antique dormer window frame, exuding authentic European charm and a deeply aged patina. The frame, likely late 19th to early 20th century, is constructed of zinc or lead-coated metal, once part of a rooftop dormer, now repurposed into a decorative mirror. Its arched pediment and molded cornice reflect classic French or Belgian rooftop architecture, often seen on townhouses or châteaux. The weathered surface tells the story of decades exposed to the elements, with remnants of original white paint clinging to the darkened metal beneath. The mirror is divided into four panes by original muntins, further enhancing its window-like authenticity. From the back, one can see the original structural details, reinforcing its provenance as a true architectural salvage piece. The reflection in the mirror has a slightly distressed quality, adding to the sense of history and romance. This piece is equally at home as a statement wall mirror in an interior, lending a sense of French rustic elegance, or as a unique decorative object in a garden room, hallway, or commercial space.
