About the Item
2 Dramatic and Poetic French Mid-Century Modern style wall mirrors composed of handcrafted plaster in the style of Serge Roche. Serge Roche worked heavily in plaster creations and mirrors were a great object of fascination for him. These pieces possess the intrigue that Roche creations have.
They are also reminiscent of the Alberto and Diego Giacometti creations for Jean-Michel Frank. The Giacometti's drew their inspiration from ancient Etruscan and Modern Surrealist and Neo-Baroque sources and thus created an innovative, refreshing and daring aesthetic. Their work transformed decorative arts history and contemporary art. These mirrors are imbued with that fresh, original sensibility and have the power to transform a home into an artwork.
