21st Century Still Life Mirror Blue Clay by Angelica Lorenzi
About the Item
The shape of the frame of this mirror takes inspiration from a portrait of Margaret Theresa of Spain, where the young Infante of Spain is shown with long hair, lying on either side of her face, decorated with a row of red bows. The mirror is presented in the abstract shape of a head, with the hair parted in two braids flowing down the sides. The work is formed at the base by a layering of braided rope-like elements that give volume and dynamism. These are overlaid by an interspersed set of thorns, flowers, bows and a snail. A work that reflects on the childhood years through vibrant, energetic shapes and colors. This mirror, with a bit of melancholy projects us into an illusionistic springtime.
