Anonymous Anglo-Indian; last quarter of the 19th century Brass, wood, paint and mirrored glass Approximate size: 16.5 (h) x 12.5 (w) inches The manner of ornate brass inlay work, set into hardwood, exemplifies the tradition of Indian craftsmanship catering to an English audience during the last quarter of the 19th century. This ornate design is framed by a brass filet and checkered border exterior trim. The timeworn condition of this pieces adds dimension and character to its once refined beauty. Condition commensurate with age with minor scuffs throughout and a loss to the upper and lower right corners.
