About the Item
A good & large antique 19th century Ottoman silver wedding/wall mirror, with ten Ottoman Turkish Lira coins in three denominations & each dated with the Hijri date of 1327, which equates to the year 1909 in the Western calendar .
The mirror is of a large oval form and having an ornately decorated lobed shaped 900 grade silver armature, with an inset mirror to the front. The mirror can be hung on the wall by a silver chain adorned with Ottoman silver coins.
The silver has been finely decorated with repousse decoration of flowers and foliate. The ten silver coins are all dated 1909, towards the end of Sultan Abdul Hamid II's reign of the Ottoman Empire.
