About the Item
A beautiful wall mirror in solid iron designed by Antti Hakkarainen and manufactured by Taidetakomo Hakkarainen in the 1930s. The mirror is in great original condition with a beautiful greenish patina. Antti Hakkarainen was well known for his exceptional craftsmanship especially with iron objects such as this very decorative wall mirror.
The diameter of the mirror on it's own is 44cm, but including the decorations the width is 60cm and the height is 52cm.
Antti Hakkarainen was a master metal worker and designer and his prominent company Taidetakomo A. Hakkarainen was one of the main competitors to Taito, later Idman and Orno, especially in domestic lighting although they did a few public projects. The company had a range of top Finnish designers working and commissioning lamps and other furniture there.
