Chippendale Mirror, 1760

About the Item

A very fine 18th century Chinese Chippendale looking glass. The foliate design incorporates three dimensional roses wrapping around columns and Rococo C-Curves finished in pagoda tops. It retains original 24k Guilding and desirable light terracotta gesso.

    Refinished. Repaired: The mirror was overpainted in gold wax which we had professionally restored to expose the original gilding and surface. Glass was at some point replaced. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading.
