A Rare Cameo Inlaid Empire Porcelain Bowl
About the Item
stunning porcelain fruit bowl fit for an Emperor. One side displays in the style of a cameo on a rich burgundy background the handsome Profile of Phaeton, son of Apollo/Helios, the other side the profile of Eagle.
The underside shows orange markings over glaze of the maker/retailer.
I believe the service rivals the highly praised service "Iconographique Grec" in the permanent collection of Richard Baron Cohen, author of Refinement and Elegance.
