About the Item
Beautiful gold leaf gilded narrow crest mirror, completely in classic baroque style, the frame is made of resin and decorated with acanthus leaves, at the top a large shell ornament, France, circa mid 20th century, numbered on the back.
This classic and luxurious mirror comes into its own in a vintage or antique interior, but it can certainly also stand its ground and shine in a modern setting.
In very good vintage condition, no cracks, breaks or chips, the gold leaf has beautifully decoratively weathered over time and in some places almost turned black, the mirror glass has a few tiny spots due to age, this object still looks fantastic, check the photos for more details!

Large antique narrow gilded mirror from the 19th century, completely in classical baroque style, France circa 1870.
The mirror still has its original mirror plate that is decoratively weathered and mocked, which is very desirable, the frame is decorated with acanthus leaves all around, mainly decorated very ornately at the top and bottom, unfortunately the mirror was once painted over with gold paint, which does damage the authenticity somewhat, under the paint is the original gold leaf. The back of the mirror is finished with planks, as was customary at that time.
A nice extra is that the planks on the back are covered with antique French newspapers...
