Exceptional Louis XV period royal frame mounted as mirror, 18th century
carved giltwood, with royal "Fleurs de Lys," royal wings and crown.

These frames were created to frame engravings portraiting the King.
These framed engravings were offered as gifts from the king to ambassadors and other nobilities.
Ours is one of the most elaborate and delicately carved examples of these frames.
It was later mounted as a mirror, with a later period mirror plate.
Sight size: 71 cm x 52 cm.
Overall size: 95 cm x 70 cm.
