French 1900s Tramp Art Folk Mirror with Brass Tacks and Intersecting Corners

About the Item

A French rectangular Tramp Art hand-carved wooden Folk mirror from the early 20th century, with raised diamond motifs, geometric patterns, intersecting corners and brass tacks. Created in France during the Turn of the Century which saw the transition between the 19th to the 20th, this wall mirror was hand carved in the manner typical of the Tramp Art style. Presenting a rectangular frame with intersecting corners, the mirror features a layered texture made of a series of overlapping notches showcasing raised diamonds and other geometric motifs adorning the four sides. The ensemble is accented with a regular rhythm of brass tacks. This frame boasts a brown patina and surrounds a clear mirror providing great reflection. With its nice proportions, skillfully hand-carved décor and brown patina, this French Tramp Art Folk mirror circa 1900 will make for a great addition to any home, particularly placed in a mountain cabin or country home, perhaps hung above a side table or buffet.
