About the Item
An impressive and very high quality French 19th century Régence st. double framed giltwood mirror. The mirror retains all of its original mirror plates throughout with the central one framed within a fine mottled giltwood band with an elegant Les Oves design leading out to the beautiful and most decorative outer mirror plates. At the base are elegant feet and a central scrolled foliate reserve each with unique fitted mirror plates. Each corner displays exceptional pierced scrolled giltwood designs and charming seashell cabochons amidst foliate designs. The majestic top crown also displays all its original mirror plates and an impressive central palmette reserve flanked by beautiful scalloped movements with charming flowers, striking birds, and dragons amidst additional scrolled foliate designs. All original gilt throughout.
