French hanging ceramic mirror - Vallauris, France - 1950s
Attributed to La Roue-Vallauris.
Ochre coloured glazed ceramic mirror decorated on the frame with coloured flowers. This pretty mirror, typical of Vallauris mid-century creations, combines a rustic aspect with a brightly coloured decoration.
An original rope allows the mirror to be hung on the wall. It can be combined on a wall with design creations or ceramics from the same period.
Very good condition.

Vallauris, located on the French Riviera, became in the post-war period a ceramics capital after Pablo Piccaso's arrival. Many artists like Jean Cocteau, Marc Chagall, Jean Marais, Fernand Léger, Roger Capron, Robert Picault, ... participated in renewing the ceramic art during this reconstruction, ideological and spiritual renewal period.
