About the Item

This French faux bamboo mirror from circa 1900 offers a warm and sculptural take on late 19th-century design. Crafted in carved wood and finished in a rich, reddish-brown stain, the frame convincingly imitates the look of natural bamboo, complete with segmented nodes and rounded joints. Its turned details and elongated profile evoke the exoticist influences of the period, while the mirror’s clean lines and subtle ornamentation give it a timeless versatility. Designed with vertical orientation in mind but also suitable for horizontal hanging, the mirror is well scaled for use above a console, in an entryway, or layered into a wall arrangement. The glass is clear, reflecting light and space with ease while allowing the frame’s textural interest to take visual priority. The piece retains its original canvas backing and recent hanging wire. At just under 30 inches wide and over 43 inches high, it has presence without overwhelming a space. This is a refined decorative accent that complements both traditional and more relaxed interiors with natural materials and understated detail.
