Illuminated mirror Italy 50'
About the Item
Very rare! A wall mirror with indirect lighting. Designed by Ernest Igl in the 1950s and made in Italy.
The frame contains 4 x E14 light bulbs (max. 40W).
The mirror frame and base are made of metal.
This vintage item is fully functional and in good vintage condition, but shows age-related signs of wear, including various scratches and scuffs on the inner, non-visible part of the mirror.
Heavy patina. The mirror glass is in very good condition, with no blind spots or stains.

The power cord shown is not included. The mirror is connected to the wall with a cable like a wall lamp.

Ernest Igl
Ernest Igl graduated from the Karlsbad Commercial Academy in 1938 and then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Academy of Applied Arts in Munich. After the war, he worked as a draftsman and graphic artist in Munich. Igl enjoyed a high reputation as one of the first illustrators at major school book publishers and distinguished himself as an internationally sought-after industrial designer. He died in Davos in 2001.
