Italian 19th Century Empire St. Cherrywood and Ormolu Mirror
About the Item
A handsome and large scaled Italian 19th century Empire st. Cherrywood and ormolu mirror. The rectangular mirror is flanked by two circular columns with bottom block feet decorated by an ormolu mount of foliate palmettes with scrolls. Above are the architectural columns with bottom mottled ormolu plinths and top foliate capitals. The top frieze has a richly chased central rosette surrounded by a octagon shaped border. On each side of the central reserve are additional wonderfully decorative ormolu foliate palmettes as well as atop of the circular columns.
