An exceptional and incredibly unique Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated and giltwood mirror. The mirror retains its original mirror plate set within a most decorative straight and arched shaped frame. The frame displays a superb array of richly chased floral garlands set on a patinated turquoise background and leading up each side to intricately detailed floral reserves at the arched top. The frame is carved at an angle creating a wonderful trumploy optical illusion making the frame look deeper than it is. This is a large scale Italian blue painted and carved giltwood trumeau style mirror. The coloration is vivid and wonderful. It is unmarked and in very good condition.

An Italian Baroque style mirror, the rectangular mirror plate set within a giltwood and facetted glass border and a further blue-glass and mirror glass border displaying arabesque ornaments painted in polychrome oil paint. The whole flanked by a scrolling foliate border and surmounted by a shaped giltwood, blue-glass and engraved panel cresting.
