About the Item

Exceptional and large “Wall Mirage” sculpture mirror with palms in nickel with ostrich eggs at top, gilt silver teardrop elements over red enameled uprights, ebonized wood and bone framing the mirror, and polished malachite medallions at bottom and top with beveled mirror in bronze glass by J. Antony Redmile, London 1970s (Signed “redmile London” on top). J. Antony Redmile had a boutique in London in the 1960’s through the 1980’s selling unique bespoke artisan pieces featuring precious and exotic materials. This mirror is a sensational work of art. Reference: Sanai & Sons book on J. Antony Redmile, on page 31 is a photograph of this model. A description on the previous page reads, “WALL MIRAGE: large mirror with palm tree mount, nickel and gilt silver with red enamelling, ostrich egg, malachite, bone, ebonized wood.”
