About the Item
The large mirror with a wide openwork leafy scrolled surround. The pediment shaped crest with a leaf with scrolled top and bell flower applique over an open palmette. Matching palmettes on the sides and as the terminal. Acanthus leaves are in the corners.
56" H x 38" W x 5" D
Condition: There are various signs of age including some age appropriate mercury oxidation to the mirror glass, wear along the inner edge of the surround and elsewhere revealing the red underneath for a good antique patina. A few chips to the gilt lower right which do not greatly detract from the large and impressive presentation. Please review the detail photos.
