Large Oval Wall Mirror and Rococo Wall Brackets

About the Item

Sold as a set. A dramatic and distinctive 19th Century large oval wall mirror, the assured carving and decoration of the flower-studded foliage and flag leaves of the giltwood frame sweeping upwards to the entwined crest, the upper section of the frame further decorated with carved and painted bulrushes, the base with a ruffled and tied carved giltwood ribbon bow. A pair of elegantly carved 18th Century giltwood wall brackets, the wonderful asymmetric swirl of their scrolled foliage supports highlighted by the distinctive detail of paired bulrushes clasped in the central curve of each bracket. Size: 26 inches (66 cm) high; 16 inches (40.5 cm) wide.
