Large Swedish mirror made of gold-leaf gilded wood, a classic crest mirror entirely in rococo style, elegantly decorated with acanthus leaves, flowers, and patterns. Marked on the back with the maker's sticker, by AB Exportlist, Nyköping, second half of the 20th century.
Ornate and impressive, this large mirror will shine in a hallway, living room, or bedroom. Timeless elegance with a nod to the past, it is crafted with quality wood formed with plaster and gilded with gold leaf.
This mirror is in charming and characterful condition, with minor signs of age and use commensurate with its age, such as fading of the gold leaf and a very minor repair to the plaster decoration. Large antique narrow gilded mirror from the 19th century, completely in classical baroque style, France circa 1870.
The mirror still has its original mirror plate that is decoratively weathered and mocked, which is very desirable, the frame is decorated with acanthus leaves all around, mainly decorated very ornately at the top and bottom, unfortunately the mirror was once painted over with gold paint, which does damage the authenticity somewhat, under the paint is the original gold leaf. The back of the mirror is finished with planks, as was customary at that time.
A nice extra is that the planks on the back are covered with antique French newspapers...
