About the Item
Marcin Rusak Studio’s Merging Metals collection focuses on showcasing the painterly qualities of merging metals, with the aim to instil artistic expression into the industrial processes associated with this material. The collection adopts a metal spraying technique traditionally used for large-scale industrial manufacture, and renders the process handmade, resulting in individually unique pieces. By applying metals such as bronze, brass, copper, zinc and aluminium to objects as if they were three-dimensional canvases, a truly original aesthetic landscape is created; one of deep colours and rich textures reminiscent of Minimalist sculpture and colour-field painting.
Handmade in Europe, the MM Mirror 90-1 is made in steel and then covered in molten zinc and bronze. Its curved edges and irregular surface create a shiny, glamorous finish reminiscent of a Rothko painting.
The piece will be shipped in a museum-quality wooden fumigated crate suitable for airfreight. The price includes packing and crating, and excludes shipping costs, import duties, and taxes, if applicable.

Marcin Rusak
Marcin Rusak was born in 1987, Warsaw, Polan). Rusak is an artist and multidisciplinary designer interested in ideas of value, ephemerality and aesthetics. Specializing in storytelling, process and material investigation his work often incorporates research, object and installation as well as visual creations to explore overlooked details of our lives, which recreated and re-imagined are shown again in a different light. As the son and grandson of flower growers, he has long been fascinated by these natural sources of inspiration and decoration. Engaging them in his creative process began by reusing waste to investigate new decorative elements within everyday objects and led to a rich body of work ranging from research and storytelling to cultural criticism around consumption and future scenarios.
The piece is customisable in terms of dimensions and finishes. Available finishes include juxtapositions of Aluminium Bronze, Brass, Copper, Phosphor Bronze, and Zinc.
