Massive Antique Baroque Style Carved And Gilt Mirror
About the Item
Provenance: Sotheby's, NY (1/89). An elongated cartouche shape with elaborate leafy scrolled details and cartouche form crest. The second projections with masks over the long curving sides. The mirror made in sections with an applied center gilt surround with large leafy crest and terminal.
H. 6'6", W. 3'6", 3.25” deep.
Condition: Please see all detail photos. There is an old stable break and trim loss amongst the leaves on the left-side facing held in place with the original screw. There is some expected age-related wear to the gilt but does not detract from the whole, slight areas of oxidation to the mirror silver with the presentation being magnificent.
