Mid-19th Century, Gilded Venetian Mirror
About the Item
A very large, hand-carved, gessoed and gold gilded, 19th c. mirror with exceptional, foliate carving. The upper extrusions in a broken pediment style, surmounted by a fleur de lis style crown. In the center, on each side, a pair of curling acanthus leaves above flowers and trailing leaves. The inset, mercury glass is original.
