Monumental Italian Neoclassical Style Gilt Sunburst Mirror
About the Item
Fantastic Italian giltwood sunburst wall mirror made with monumental porportions and scale. Measuring nearly 68 inches wide with a carved frame having a neoclassical style rocaille shell motif outer border and a raised thinner gilt inner border. The frame was lacquered with a red base coat and then embellished with gilt. The thick border has a blue grey lacquer separating the two gilt frames giving the mirror depth and size. The finish has an intentionally aged patina. Very heavy and solid. Bespoke statement piece from an estate in Napa Valley, CA.
