About the Item
Fantastic Napoleon III style hand-carved giltwood rope and tassel wall mirror featuring a large bow finial on the crest. The thick nautical style ropes twist around the border ending in a small tassel finial on bottom. The finish has a lovely aged gilt patina with red lacquer showing through. The antique glass is spotted and shows age with desirable wear. Provenance: From the estate of billionaire banking heir Richard Mellon, Pebble. Beach, CA.
