The rectilinear form is flanked by fluted pilasters with acanthus capitals and classical rosette reliefs, framing an inset mirror bordered in a vivid faux lapis lazuli finish—an homage to the prized stone favored in imperial decoration.
The elaborate crest features a pair of confronting swans—traditional emblems of grace, fidelity, and transformation—arching toward a central urn issuing anthemion plumes, a classical motif associated with immortality and enlightenment. The use of swans and fountains here speaks to the influence of Saint Petersburg design and the symbolic language of Empire ornamentation, blending theatricality with academic classicism.
