This wall mirror by Soo Joo uses wooden steam-bending techniques to create an Organic Mirror design. Her intuitive eye for novel forms and her sensitivity to detail come from the artist’s background in fine art.
Corner Mirrors by Soo Joo explore the idea of asymmetrical mirrors reflecting onto each other to create dynamic spaces. In this series, the artist uses traditional woodworking steam-bending craft techniques to create elegant novel mirror forms. These Corner Mirrors are lightweight wall-mirrors with built-in french cleats that are custom designed into the backs of the mirrors, to hang flush to the wall.

Soo Joo Studio
Soo Joo is a Korean-American artist who works in Seoul, Korea and New York. Although she has a background in fine art, she studied Furniture Design at RISD, and her debut collection was introduced in August 2022. "At the basic core of my work is an investigation into biophilic design: how non-living, abstract art and objects can still carry the essence of nature, through material and formal language. Through my work, I develop a new visual language that serves as an alternative to geometry, from an East Asian perspective" Soo Joo is influenced by her grandmother who is a traditional Korean ink painter, who paints plants and calligraphy in sweeping brush strokes. She also uses her practice in dance to influence the gestural aesthetic of her works.
