Pair of Italian 19th Century Louis XVI St. Large Scale Giltwood Mirrors
About the Item
A monumental and extremely rare pair of Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood mirrors. The beveled mirrors are raised on a straight finely carved base accented with scrolls and acanthus leaves at each side. At the very impressive top crowns are finely carved capitol shaped frames with swaging floral garlands, seashells, and cornice sides. Centered are large acanthus leaf designs with cabochons below arms decorated with giltwood branches. All original gilt throughout.
