A pair of Italian early 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated and Giltwood mirror
About the Item
A stunning and most elegant pair of Italian early 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated and Giltwood mirrors. Each attractive mirror is centered by a pierced scrolling carved foliate bottom finial. The beautiful rectangular frame has rosette carvings in each corner, slender panels with beaded carvings on the outside edges, and Coeur-de-Rai bands on the inside. The interior of each mirror contains it original oval mirror plate bordered by additional beaded Giltwood carvings and surrounded by foliate Giltwood carvings in each corner atop a patinated background. The elaborate pierced top crown of each mirror is decorated by scrolling foliate designs and laurel vines draping over both sides.
