Pair of Italian Early 19th Century Patinated and Giltwood Mirrors
About the Item
A spectacular and large scale pair of Italian early 19th century patinated and giltwood mirrors. The exceptional pair of mirrors are raised on green faux painted marble plinths below an acorn leaf designed giltwood band. To each side are luxuriant pilasters with intricately carved acanthus leaves at the base. Leading up the sides are additional inverted foliate and floral movements, swaging garlands and impressive ionic capitals adorned with elegant les oves patterns. Above, a fine beaded giltwood band and additional les oves band join the pilaster shaped side supports. All original gilt throughout.
