An exquisite pair of Italian early 19th century Régence st. giltwood mirrors. The original mirror plates are set within striking and most decorative richly scrolled movements adorned with large richly carved acanthus leaves. Beautiful lattice designs extend throughout the frames while each side displays finely detailed masks with acanthus leaf headpieces. The impressive top crowns display exceptional pierced foliate reserves, additional most decorative scrolled foliate designs and intricately detailed foliate swaging garlands. All original gilt throughout.
