About the Item

Pair of two round vintage Art Deco Americana traditional federal admiral eagle mirrors. This pair of beautifully crafted antique mirrors would be a stunning addition to any wall. Each mirror features a pie crust, beveled scalloped edge. Mirrors are affixed to a solid wood backing and attached with round metal hardware at the top and bottom of the mirror. Both at the top and bottom of the mirrors, eagles and botanical filigree leaves are affixed as marquetry. The wings of each admiral eagle are open and outstretched with the head facing to the right. The eagles sit atop a trailing ribbon motif with a shield at its bust. The wood on both the front and back is in a gold color and made of wood. The type of wood is unknown. At the top of the mirror, affixed to the back, are metal hanging hardware for attaching to the wall. Because of their unusual shape and size, this pair is quite a rare find. Most admiral federal eagle mirrors are hard to come by in pairs. And most are framed. Because of their size and shape, they would fit wonderfully in a boy's room. Grouped together horizontally or vertically on a wall between two twin beds. Or perhaps in a powder bathroom used as an element of surprise. A Classic piece used by designers worldwide, this set should be part of capsule furniture and décor collection. A traditional element that would fit well in any home and on any wall. Condition:
Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. One eagle is missing a small portion of the tip of its wing. Some aging to the mirror such as lines or scratches beneath. Which only gives it character.
