About the Item
This mirror is part of the Ultra-Rainbowla mirror series by American furniture maker Greg Palombo. The mirror is inspired by Ettore Sottsass and the Memphis Milano Movement and the belief that objects can express far more than just function. They can elicit emotions and a celebration of life by the use of form and color. This piece was based on this idea. With the Rainbowla mirror format, we hope to celebrate the person who walks into view their own reflection by surrounding them in a colorful and sinuous form of the mirror's frame. It is a celebration of the self or whatever might find itself being reflected in it.
The piece is made from MDF and painted with colored lacquer. The hangs on the wall with a french cleat and can be oriented horizontally or vertically. All Greg Palombo pieces come with a life time warranty that covers any defect in craftsmanship or materials.

Greg Palombo
My name is Greg Palombo and I am an American furniture maker and designer. I produce and sell pieces found here on 1stdibs and I work with interior designers as a consultant for their furniture design and fabrication needs. The work I make takes on various personalities, but it all falls under a methodology of how they are conceived, designed and executed. The genre of furniture has so much to offer, and I am always responding to history, form, color, material, or workmanship. Each piece I make addresses an idea, or a combination of them. Working in this mode leaves little allegiance to an particular visual aesthetic which keeps the work fresh and exciting. I am always on my toes trying to dip and dodge through new challenges and hurtles in the design process. It leads to a lot of failure but the pursuit is what keeps me jazzed. When designing I always try to think about what a piece can become rather than what it is. Through this I hope how to express something beyond just function.
