Swedish Arts & Crafts Hand Carved Oak Mirror with Monkey and Birds

About the Item

Swedish Arts & Crafts hand carved oak mirror. The entire wooden frame have a marvelous smiling monkey (baboon) in the middle holding two birds (maybe crows) in his hand. The glass are original and has stains and patina all-over. Apart from the crack on the upper left side this piece is completely original and in great condition. We have not been able to find a maker's mark or signature, but this can only be the work of one witty and original artist from the Arts & Crafts era, with the right kind of workmanship and quality. Measures: Frame 66.5 cm H and 40.5 cm W, 3.5 cm D (carved part 8 cm) Glass 41.5 cm H, 25.5 cm W.
