About

Pedro Barrail's Digital Mirror was created in 2014 as part of his first solo exhibition at Cristina Grajales Gallery, titled Welcome to the Jungle. This piece was first built by Barrail and then sent to a remote Paraguayan village, where it received its authentic burned tattoos from the indigenous Amazonian tribe, Pai Tavytera. The tattoos represent the visual language and narrative of the tribe's history.

Pedro Barrail was born in 1964 in Asuncion, Paraguay. He worked and studied in Miami for over a decade, where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fine Arts, Architecture, and Urban and Town Design. Pedro's collection includes breakfast tables, chairs, bar stools, coffee tables, mirrors, and objects. His pieces are part of private and public collections internationally, and have been referenced in publications such as the New York Times, Art and Auction and Financial Times. Barrail has represented Paraguay in several international exhibitions, fairs, and Biennales including the prestigious Biennale Di Venezia in 2013, where his work was part of the first official Paraguayan Pavilion.
