About the Item
A charming and most decorative true pair of Italian 19th century Venetian st. patinated wood mirrors. Each small mirror retains their original mirror plates framed within an elegant scalloped gilt border with lovely finely detailed hand painted colorful blooming flowers extending throughout set on a patinated green background. At the base are beautiful scrolled feet with remarkable gilt scrolled foliate designs leading up each side to the top crown centered by remarkable hand painted scenes of a young boy sitting with a birdcage on his lap and a young shepherdess with a staff in one hand and a sheep at her side. All original gilt, mirror plates, and patina throughout.
