Very Fine Antique Venetian Etched-Glass Mirror in Medium Size
About
Antique Venetian mirror in Louis XIII style with fine floral, scroll and dot etchings on panels and cartouches surrounding a rectangular octagonal and beveled looking glass, and assembled with mirror-topped screws holding glass brackets in place. The back is one wooden board which is painted black.
The mirror's many facets catch the light and reflect various parts of the objects in the room in a very exciting and cheerful manner.
The vintage feel of the mirror is the result of spotting and minor losses of some of the silver backing in the double-glass brackets and on the mirrored screws holding them. This is wear which only comes from age, and one has to look hard to see it. This is a very attractive feature not found in modern reproductions. It gives the mirror an Old World ambiance, which looks great with other antiques or with a modern interior.
This mirror can be hung as art to enhance any room, and is a perfect size for a condominium or city apartment.
It is a terrific focal point for any room, and it will especially bring light and joy to dark or dull places.
