Pair of 19th century French empire mahogany and walnut beds
About the Item
Pair of 19th century french empire mahogany and walnut beds circa 1890.
Fine quality pair of large single beds of the empire revival period. Beautifully made from walnut and mahogany and further decorated with ormolu mounts.
Headboard and foot board both complement each other with an inlaid design and stringing and fluted detailed to each corner. Standing on turned feet. Comes complete with drop in duvan's which are in very good condition, which makes these beds a very generous single bed.
Frame sides are made with a bolt and thread construction, which is simple to put together.
Recently fully restored in our workshop. Minor surface marks to woodwork in line with age and use.
