A charming and elegant antique French Louis XV style table de chevet. circa 1880 What sets this example apart from others is that this one is an actual antique, dating to the 19th century, while most on the market are mid-20th century antique reproductions. The elegant French mahogany, kingwood and rosewood chest of drawers bedside nightstand - end table features an undulating raised partial gallery framing fruitwood floral marquetry, contrasting string banding, and intricate cross-banded inlay border, over serpentine shaped case front fitted with three dovetailed drawers, each exquisitely decorated with delicate flower fiolate inlays and affixed with original pulls, flanked by rounded corners, matched parquetry and cross-banding inlaid sides, nicely figured mahogany back so it can be placed anywhere in the room, over scalloped apron, rising on long slender cabriole legs, terminating in patinated brass sabots. Sure to add refined elegance, warmth, and timeless sophisticated style to any space! Dimensions: (approx) 29" Tall, 13.5 Wide, 11" Deep Good original unrestored antique condition. Nicely aged patina over the whole. Retaining original antique character throughout, including evidence of old repair to the top, powder-post beetle pinholes, all wear consistent with well over a century of age and use. Delivered cleaned, waxed, with hand rubbed polished French patina finish, ready for immediate use and generational enjoyment!
